League of 72 Live
League of 72 Live (LO72 Live), powered by Sky Bet, brought EFL fans closer to the action than ever before. This fully remote, cloud-produced weekly series delivered live interviews, expert analysis, fan Q&A, and exclusive video content—covering the Championship, League 1, and League 2 like never before.
Sky Bet’s mission was clear: amplify buzz around the EFL, leverage exclusive footage rights in an innovative way, and build a thriving, interactive YouTube community from scratch. With LO72 Live, they created a space where fans could engage in real time while enjoying high-quality, dynamic content.
Alex.Live handled the entire cloud production workflow for LO72 Live, managing every technical and production aspect of the weekly show. Our own Alex.Live Cloud production suite, built on Amazon AWS and powered by proprietary workflows, allowed for a fully scalable, high-quality live production—without the need for a physical studio or gallery build.
This flexibility gave LO72 Live the ability to bring in remote guests from anywhere in the world, go live at a moment’s notice, and react instantly to breaking news. While the production was being vision-mixed from Essex, Sky Bet’s producers managed editorial direction from London, and a graphics operator triggered branded visuals from Sussex. All of this was seamlessly orchestrated, delivering a polished, broadcast-quality experience that felt just as smooth as a traditional studio show.
Interactivity was at the heart of LO72 Live. Host James Alcott made a conscious effort to engage with fans in real time, referencing standout messages from the live chat and fostering an authentic dialogue with the audience. YouTube Polls were also used to gauge opinions and involve viewers in the conversation—creating a truly fan-first experience where the audience felt like part of the show.
By embracing remote cloud production, LO72 Live didn’t just reduce costs—it unlocked a new level of agility and creative freedom. The ability to go live whenever and wherever needed gave Sky Bet an unprecedented advantage, allowing them to stay reactive, relevant, and ahead of the curve in EFL content creation.
By combining cutting-edge cloud technology with fan-driven engagement, Sky Bet and Alex.Live proved that live broadcasts can be just as compelling, interactive, and high-quality from a remote setup as they are from a studio.
